Hello everyone, I know it's been a while but a lot has been happening in my life. I woke up on day and realized that if I didn't change some things in my life, I would probably die, very soon. I started that day on a journey. This journey will be a long one, I didn't get where I was over night and I've learned I can't reach where I'm going over night, but if I stay focused on the goal, it will come through the Lords help. I can and have made life changes that are forever! I have now lost 64 pounds and I'm able to do things like hiking and things that I wasn't able to do before. I am going for at least another 50. God is with me, I will conquer this weight issue and maintain a healthy weight in the end, Thank You Lord, Family & friends for support though this. God is good

A picture began circulating in November. It should be 'The Picture of the Year,' or perhaps, 'Picture of the Decade.' It won't be. In fact,unless you obtained a copy of the US paper which published it, you probably
Would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner.

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr Bruner's remarkable Surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt Univ Med Ctr in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed Hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity The editors titled the picture, 'Hand of Hope.' The text explaining the picture begins, 'The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.'

Little Samuel's mother said they 'wept for days' when they saw the picture. She said, 'The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person.'Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful.

My Aunt Karen sends the best e-mails! to funny

As a young minister in Tennessee , I was asked by a funeral director
To hold a grave-side service for a homeless man, who had no family or
Friends. The funeral was to be held at a new cemetery way back in the
Country, and this man would be the first to be buried there.
I was not familiar with the backwoods area, and I soon became
Lost. Being a typical man, I did not stop to ask for directions. I
Finally arrived an hour late.

I saw the backhoe and the open grave, but the hearse was nowhere
In sight. The digging crew was eating lunch. I apologized to the
Workers for my tardiness, and I stepped to the side of the open grave.
There I saw the vault lid already in place. I assured the workers I
Would not hold them up for long, as I told them that this was the
Proper thing to do.

The workers gathered around the grave and stood silently, as I
Began to pour out my heart and soul. As I preached about 'looking
Forward to a brighter tomorrow and the glory that is to come,'

The workers began to say 'Amen,' 'Praise the Lord,' and 'Glory!'
The fervor of these men truly inspired me. So, I preached and I
Preached like I had never preached before, all the way from Genesis to
Revelations.

I finally closed the lengthy service with a prayer, thanked the men,
And walked to my car. As I was opening the door and taking off my
Coat, I heard one of the workers say to another, 'I ain't NEVER seen nothin'
Like that before, and I've been puttin' in septic tanks for thirty years!'

No, I'm not eating. I just thought this summed up my feelings this year. Through all we have been through this last year, I have grown so much more thankful of my family as well as my Church family. We take people and things for granted. I would never have asked for the things that we have been through, but I tell you what, we as a Church could never have found the unity and peace that we have, just because. We have grown it it seems by being there for one another, refusing to give up, and KNOWING through it all, God is there. At times I feel like I have seen the Footprints In The Sand poem played out around me. (only one set of prints,being Gods in the sand) Truly, if it wasn't for the Lord,where would we be. I love Him, and Thank Him so much for keeping us through it all.
Thank You Lord for all the new families in our Church, and for the new children in Sunday School may I never get over the excitement of seeing a new child's eyes light up in understanding while I am teaching.
I am overwhelmed with things I am thankful for Lord, for the things that I have, and have not remembered to write, Thank You. May I always be thankful.

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more
To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

I'm thankful right now to be surrounded by those
Whose lives touch me more than they'll ever possibly know

Thankful Lord, that You've blessed me beyond measure

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I have just come home from one of my favorite services of the year, where we get the chance to not only stand and say what we are thankful for, but we hear from others and find out what God has been up to in their lives too. I love it. I hope we always have that service, it helps us stop and remember how blessed we are, and reminds us to be thankful. It's 11:30, and I am starting to feel the effects of the alarm that went off way to early this morning for work. I wanted to do this before I lost courage.lol Once again, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Text about Heidi on Saturday!

We had a pre-scheduled Sunday School Seminar with the McCools today, which by the way was fantastic!! While there, I text messaged Sis. Loretta this,

"Hey, it's Sis. Hill, I'm sitting in a Sunday School Seminar. How is Heidi! Anything new?"

The immediate reply was this,

Loretta Willman says, "Heidi is doing well!! She got her head dresses off today, and I fed her which means I held her!"

My reply was this,

"Yeh, Thank God!"

I took this from Misti's blog just in case someone visits my blog that hasn't seen hers. Heidi, we haven't met, but I love you and I'm praying for you sweetheart! I can't wait to meet you.

I am posting this asking that everyone please pray for Heidi Willman. She is the daughter of a family in our church. She was born last night, and is now in Valley Childrens Hospital ICU! The doctors did an EEG on her, to watch her brain activity and she is showing that she is having SEIZURES continuously. She is now only 24 hours old and has blood on her brain. This blood on the brain could be causing the seizures, but they are not sure what is going on. This poor baby is much to young to be having these problems. Please pray that her seizures will stop and the blood will go away. Thank you all for your continual prayers! I know that God can hear our prayers and heal her.

~** At this point the seizures have stopped, but she is still in ICU and not out of the woods yet. My Sister and Pastor went and saw her today, and she does seem to be doing some better. Please continue to pray!**~

EXCERPTS FROM A CAT'S DAILY DIARY:
Day 183 of My Captivity: My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another house plant.

Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair, must try this on their bed. Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan.

There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary confinement throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant, he speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the high metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time....

Church Bulletin Bloopers

Ushers will eat latecomers.

For anyone who has children and doesn't know it, there is a day care on the first floor.

The third verse of Blessed Assurance will be sung without musical accomplishment.

During the absence of our pastor, we enjoyed the rare privilege of hearing a good sermon when J.F. Stubbs supplied our pulpit.

Pastor is on vacation. Massages can be given to church secretary.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children.

Today the pastor will preach his farewell message after which the choir will sing, "Break Forth into Joy!"

The choir will meet at the Larsen house for fun and sinning.

Miss Charlene Mason sang, "I Will Not Pass This Way Again," giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It is a good chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands.

Don't let worry kill you -- let the church help.

Next Sunday is the family hay ride and bonfire at the Fowlers. Bring your own hot dogs and guns. Friends are welcome! Everyone come for a fun time.

"Wise Up, O Men of God"

Weight Watchers will meet at 7 p.m. Please use the large double door at the side entrance.

The 8th graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in the church basement on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.

Tonight's sermon -- "What is hell?" Come early and listen to our choir practice.

This afternoon there will be a meeting in the North and South ends of the church. Babies will be baptized at both ends.

Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. there will be an ice cream social. All ladies giving milk, please come early.

This being Easter, Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Smith to come forward and lay an egg on the altar.

Next Sunday, a special collection will be taken to defray the cost of a new carpet. All of those wishing to do something on the carpet will come forward and do so.

Thursday night - Potluck supper -- prayer and medication to follow.

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our church and community.

The Ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind. They can be seen in the basement on Saturday.

For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

Next Thursday, there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.

The agenda was adopted... the minutes were approved... the financial secretary gave a grief report.

Barbara C. remains in the hospital and needs blood donors for more transfusions. She is also having trouble sleeping and requests tapes of Pastor Jack's sermons.

The 'Over 60s Choir' will be disbanded for the summer with the thanks of the entire church.

How to Dance in the Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would be able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought,

'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you care about. I just did.

My Canny!

As most of you know, my sister and Cherish was sick for a week or so, well I tried to help my sister as much as I could and prayed. Cherish kind of worried us and ended up at the Hospital for a little while to get re hydrated. I was working on Tuesday, and I heard canny canny at first I was confused about what I was hearing. I turned, and there was Cherish, all excited to see canny. Susan and Stephen had to go get something else and on the way back Susan said she said my canny, my canny. Here I was worried about her, and here she ( they) came and surprised me at work and made my day. I am so thankful to the Lord, and to everyone who prayed for Susan and Cherish. It was hard on me to see them sick and not be able to make them well.

You Know, The U.S. has issues, what country doesen't? But something about the grand old flag and remembering the men and women who,not only have fought for our freedom, but have died for it. I have to say, there is no country like the U.S.A. Truely Let Freedom Ring. Thank You, all who have served to make my freedom possible, may we never take it for granted! Happy 4th of July!

This is a story I wrote for Easter, I thought I would

share it with everyone. We used it as a play.

“The Man with a kind face”

Hello, my name is Leara. I would like to tell you my story if you have the time. I remember one day my family and I was walking, and we realized there was a huge crowd of people. There was no way of telling what they were trying to see so we went closer to find out what was going on. We saw a Man sitting on a rock. In getting closer, I instantly I knew He was no ordinary man. He had the kindest face and eyes I had ever seen. Well, I have to say, I wanted to go to Him. I wanted Him to see me. I was kind of scared to go closer because the Man was teaching that big crowd, and me being a little girl, I didn’t want to bother Him. I couldn’t help it. I finally asked my parents if I could go to him and they said it would be ok. Others must have been thinking the same thing because other kids started toward Him at the same time. I became so excited to be getting nearer the man with the kind face. We were near the Man when suddenly His friends told us we couldn’t come any closer to Him “The
Master” they called Him. I could believe that, just from looking into His eyes. Anyway, as soon as The Masters friends shooed us off, The Master Himself told them to let us come. Do you know He picked each one of us up and put us on His lap, one at a time. That made us all feel so special. He changed my life that day. I could see and feel love from The Master that I had never felt before.
I said all that to explain the reason I am crying now. You see, since then I have heard stories about healings and miracles that The Master has done. Every story I heard, His love was mentioned. I even learned His name. Jesus. I never heard anything bad about Him that is why I don’t understand what happened a few days ago.
There was a lot of yelling going on my dad wouldn’t even let me out of the house. Dad told me what happened though. He said the crowd got out of control and Jesus, the Man that changed my life, was beaten, then they hung Him on a cross to let Him die. Dad wouldn’t tell me everything. I guess he thinks I’m too young to know what all they did to Jesus. What I do know is,
He died. Someone put Him in a tomb behind me two days ago. I came here to see for myself that the stories were true. They were true alright, not only was Jesus put in the tomb, but there are guards in front. I am so sad, He did nothing to anyone but love them. Really love them. Now He is dead.
I didn’t realize how long I’ve been sitting here. It must be close to sun rise.
At sunrise Jesus comes from behind, stretches out his hand, pulls her to her feet. She says: Your eyes your face, Jesus, You’re alive. My dad said you were dead.

Jesus turned to her and said,see My hands, My feet,see the nail prints? I was dead, but don’t cry, I am alive. He hugs her,sits down and puts her on his lap.

Vacation Bible School!

Our Church decided to have Vacation Bible School the first of June. I was over the 2 to 4 years old . I was so nervous at first, this being our first time since I have been here and all, but I have to say, now that it's over, "Power Lab" was one of the most exhausting, yet rewarding weeks of my life. I still miss the ones in my age bracket who came to our Church for the first time and plan to get in touch with them if possible. I have added a clip pics with some of the songs we learned. Each day the kids would learn a new power verse (Jesus gives us the power to be) and they end it with aha. a few of the days was~ Thankful, Helpful, and Brave. It was fun teaching. I hope you enjoy the clip and pictures to follow.

Hello world! My sister Susan and niece Misti have been trying to get me to start a blog, I asked them, what am I supposed to write about? I have decided to write where my heart is and that's children. There is nothing like teaching a child about Jesus and seeing the light of understanding come on. I love to work with them, and getting the privilege to pray with one to receive the Holy Ghost is truly out of this world. I will be posting some of my favorite pix and stories of some of the little guys.
